| sample_remark | Elburg et al. (2003): ME01GT2 was sampled from a late shear zone in basement granite around Sunshine Pound. The sample is extraordinarily rich in monazite that appears to be a secondary mineral, perhaps related to the development of the shear zone. Other mineral constituents of this sample are plagioclase, quartz, K-feldspar, biotite, rutile and minor muscovite. The phyllosilicates define the shear fabric within this sample, and both rutile and monazite are associated with the biotite. |
