sample_remark Elburg et al. (2003): A prominent folded pegmatite was found in schistose (probably altered Mt Neill granite: Elburg et al. 2001) basement rocks in Arkaroola Creek. The pegmatite is up to 1.2 m wide, with K-feldspar, muscovite and quartz towards its margin, and is more quartz rich in the middle. Tourmaline is found in the host rocks next to the pegmatite. Sample ME00PG2 consists of pieces of K-feldspar and muscovite that were chipped off this pegmatite. Dating of this sample was undertaken to obtain a maximum age of the Delamerian deformation.
