sample_remark Drill-hole GSQ Tickalara 1 was drilled in 1986 by the Geological Survey of Queensland as a stratigraphic hole through the Eromanga Basin and penetrating underlying basement rocks in the western part of the southern Thomson Orogen. The sample analysed and reported here was collected from depth interval 1205.32-1207.32 metres. The rock is a grey-green, fine- to medium-grained quartzose metasandstone with a poorly developed cleavage defined by anastomosing chlorite. This sample was analysed to obtain a detrital zircon age spectrum for comparison with other samples of Warratta Group and Thomson beds in the Thomson Orogen.
