| sample_remark | Sample BW20PGF156 was collected from the interval 411.0-413.3 m within the volcaniclastic sandstone part of the turbiditic package that hosts the Explorer 142 mineralisation (Coles 2009; Valenta et al 2020). The sample is part of a ~20 m-thick massive sandstone unit located ~60 m above the mineralisation. Petrographically, it is a sericite-altered, matrix-supported, massive, crystal-rich and coarse-grained volcaniclastic sandstone. The composition is 40-50%, 50-150 micron angular quartz fragments; 30-40%, 50-100 micron sub-angular feldspar crystals; and 20-30%, 50-100 micron opaque minerals, all in a sericite-quartz matrix. There is a weak S1 foliation marked by the sericite. |
