sample_remark Sample BW20PGF090 is a meta-siltstone/mudstone collected from 428.6-433.14 m within the turbiditic package that hosts the Rover 1 mineralisation (Castile Resources Limited; Coles 2009; Valenta et al 2020). The sample is located ~12 m above the mineralisation. It is a mixture of fine-grained meta-siltstone/mudstone (90%) and coarse-grained volcaniclastic sandstone (10%). The petrography reveals a chlorite-sericite-altered, clast- to matrix-supported, massive crystal-rich, coarse-grained volcaniclastic sandstone. The clastic components of the sandstone (quartz and feldspar crystals and fragments) are subhedral to angular. Most of the 0.5-1 mm quartz crystals and fragments are embayed with cuspate borders. The fabric is matrix-supported, and locally clast-supported. There is no bedding or layering detected at the thin section scale; however, there is weakly-defined graded bedding at drill core-scale. The anastomosing foliation is defined by sericite and chlorite.
