| sample_remark | Light grey, consolidated very fine quartz grains, subangular and moderately sorted, occasional calcareous grains (bioclastic), slight to moderate calcareous cement, occasional silty matrix with trace pyrite, mica, and glauconite as accessory minerals. No visual porosity. Abundant fossil fragments occur throughout the sequence, being principally bryozoa, brachiopods, ostracods, coral and mollusca.; Medium grey to dark grey, and grey-black, soft to moderately firm, subfissile to blocky, very finely laminated, micromicaceous, grading to a micaceous siltstone in part, with trace pyrite and fossil fragments. Becomes carbonaceous with depth, and is very sticky and plastic. Interbedded with sandstone. Abundant fossil fragments occur throughout the sequence, being principally bryozoa, brachiopods, ostracods, coral and mollusca. |
