sample_remark | Arenites are typically light grey, fine grained, subangular to subrounded quartz grains. Rich in mica, pyrite, with abundant plant fragments. Moderately cemented with patchily developed calcareous cement. Porosity poor, moderately cemented. Occasional graded beds and ripple marks. Bioturbation and soft sediment deformation common producing lensoid/discontinuous arenite beds.; Predominantly claystone with lesser finely lnterbedded quartz arenite. Claystones are dark grey to medium grey-green, very rich in mica, pyrite, and plant fragments which are commonly pyritized. |
