sample_remark Sample HB17CJE559 was collected from outcrop low on a gentle slope where the Goyder Formation is uncommonly thick and well preserved. Usually the formation outcrops as poorly exposed, thin-bedded, heavily weathered and ferruginised sandstone just below the base of the overlying ridge and cliff-forming Pacoota Sandstone. Sample HB17CJE559 is a fine- to medium-grained sandstone with bedding varying from 8 to 20 cm in thickness. Many bedding surfaces are ripple marked in various forms; shallow, small scale trough cross-bedding is common. Minor sole marking, current lineations, and clay galls are also observed.
