sample_remark The Nourlangie Schist in the eastern Pine Creek Orogen is likely to be the metamorphosed equivalent of the Wildman Siltstone (Mount Partridge Group) which outcrops to the west. It appears to overlie the Cahill Formation, and is transitional into the Myra Falls Metamorphics (Needham 1988). The Nourlangie Schist is intruded by the Jim Jim Granite and Oenpelli Dolerite, and unconformably overlain by the Katherine River Group. This sample of garnet-biotite-sillimanite-staurolite-quartz schist was obtained from drillcore stored at Cameco Australia Pty Ltd's core farm (drillhole ALG002) at Myra Camp. Monazite is also present in the schistose fabric.
