| sample_remark | Interbedded buff grey to pale green-grey, fine-grained arkose to lithic arkose and coarse-grained lithic arenite, both derived from mafic igneous rocks. Beds of buff arkose/lithic arkose are typically 1-5 cm and are internally laminated often fining upward to very fine-grained sandstone/siltstone. Fine-grained, grey to pale green-grey sandstone beds display extensive soft sediment deformation, with common convolute folding and development of intraclastic breccia beds with coarse-grained lithic arenite matrix. More massive coarser-grained lithic arenite dominates from 138-140 m. Both fine and coarse beds appear to contain the same mafic rock derived detritus. Very little veining in this interval. |
