| sample_remark | I-type granite from the Berridale batholith. Ickert and Williams 2011 paraphrased: "The dominant rock types in the Berridale–Kosciuszko region are granodiorite and granite, with subordinate tonalite. Gabbroic and dioritic rocks are rare and only occur in association with plutons of the Jindabyne Suite, or as small stocks in the metasedimentary screen between the Berridale and Kosciuszko Batholiths (Hine et al. 1978). Cross-cutting relationships constrain the relative ages of three pulses of magmatic activity. The earliest phase is represented by two, small volume I-type granodiorite plutons intruded to the south, the Finister and Merumbago plutons. The Finister pluton is cut by the I-type Buckleys Lake pluton and the S-type Numbla Vale pluton." |
