| sample_remark | Kemp et al 2005 paraphrased: " The sample is a medium- to coarse grained diorite, where aggregates of blocky plagioclase grains (~5 mm), orthopyroxene prisms and amphibolerimmed augite masses occur in a finer groundmass of plagioclase and pyroxene laths, interstitial to poikilitic hornblende, biotite and minor quartz. Chlorite ovoids in the centre of orthopyroxene are possibly after olivine. The larger plagioclase grains occasionally contain irregularly shaped cores that are outlined by tiny trains of pyroxene crystals. Zircons in the diorite are localised along plagioclase grain boundaries or embedded within interstitial amphibole. " |
