sample_remark Biotite muscovite granite. St Marys, Bicheno, Coles Bay and Avoca Areas. McDougall & Leggo (1965) paraphrased: ""GA 493 and GA 628 are from the same mass and are from localities only about 1 mile apart. Both rocks are coarse-grained granites with large phenocrysts of K-feldspar, which is perthitic and partly kaolinized. Plagioclase much less abundant than K-feldspar and appears to be albite; it is somewhat sericitized. Quartz has weak undulose extinction. Biotite occurs as ragged flakes which are partly chloritized; it is undeformed. Muscovite forms fresh crystals to up to 1 mm. Tourmaline is a common accessory.""
