Minor brown black, very carbonaceous, argillaceous, grading to silty coal, firm, blocky, decreasing with depth.; Similar to sandstone in 309 - 374m interval. Clear to translucent to opaque quartz, medium to predominantly coarse and very coarse grained, well rounded, poorly sorted, no visible cement, trace dark grey silty matrix, predominantly unconsolidated, matrix supported, matrix washing out of sample, very poor inferred porosity, no shows. Alongside light brown grey, very fine to fine grained, subangular, moderately sorted, trace siliceous calcareous cement, abundant light grey to pale brown argillaceous silty matrix, common altered feldspar, common mica (biotite), trace carbonaceous inclusions, trace lithics, very friable, grading to sandy siltstone, very poor visual porosity, no shows. |
