sample_remark | Light grey, pink-grey, pink-brown, light grey-brown. Massive to finely laminated. Typically almost 100% fine to medium grained dolospar with minor disseminated quartz and pyrite. Occasional thin green claystone laminations and stylolites rare silty and calcitic bands. Minor sucrosic intervals, up to 65 cm thick, having fair to excellent intercrystal porosity. Vugular in parts; most vugs are 2 mm to 3 cm in diameter, and commonly have a laminoid-fenestral appearance. Vugular porosity very poor to fair, decreasing in abundance down-core, and vugs often partially filled with brown sucrosic dolomite. Fracturing rme to common, though fracture porosity generally completely occluded with white, coarse grained calcite. Minor brecciation. Generally non-fossiliferous; very rare biomolds after (?) brachiopods. |
