| sample_remark | The sample analysed here was collected from depth interval 473.35-473.65 metres (Weilmoringle 1A drillhole) and consists of a sand-rich interval within an otherwise mudstone-dominated sedimentary package. The rock is a light-green, fine-grained sandstone. Bedding is moderately inclined relative to the drill-hole axis, and the sample exhibits a weak cleavage. No previous radiometric age measurements have been made on samples from the Glenroy Formation. Geochronology was conducted to produce a detrital zircon age spectrum for this sandstone for comparison with other metasedimentary samples of the southern Thomson Orogen and northern Lachlan Orogen. |
