| sample_remark | Grey-white medium-grained sparsely feldspar porphyritic biotite granite. Phenocrysts (<5%), of plagioclase (white to 1cm) and K-feldspar (pink-white to 8mm). Well jointed. Granular (to mildly granoblastic) texture. K-feldspar: subhedral and poikilitic to anhedral/late, variably developed tartan twinning from minor to strong, some simple twins, mildly perthitic. Quartz: anhedral, mildly to moderately undulose. Plagioclase: subhedral, twinned, mostly unzoned, commonly moderately to locally strongly sericitic, muscovitic and epidotic (the latter fine grained), <K-feldspar, minor myrmekite outgrowths. Biotite: <6%, anhedral flakes, light yellow to brown-red, partly chloritic, with epidote, rutile and minor fluorite. Accessories include zircon, apatite, opaques (relatively common), allanite (1%), and titanite (<1%). |
