remark Eastern Province Region. Stranding of asphaltite on the dune face behind the beach found on 18 January 2023 by Dr John Bradshaw. Murrah Beach, NSW. Coastal asphaltite found on recently eroded scarp at the front of the dune about 1.5m below the top of the dune. The sample is weathered and rounded and has grass roots penetrating through dessication cracks in the deposit but there was no obvious soil profile above the deposit. Surface Murrah Beach, South of Bermagui, NSW. Dimensions 19.5 cm x 18 cm x 4 cm; weight 1366.5g. Strong proliferous odour. Large portion of sample retured to John Bradshaw.
