| sample_remark | Sample HA07DFC207 is a pelitic schist collected from the eastern Casey Inlier (Aileron Province), a region dominated by high-grade metasedimentary units and felsic intrusive rocks (Close et al 2007). The eastern domain comprises metasedimentary rocks that include metapelite, metapsammite, quartz-magnetite layers, graphite-bearing calc-silicate rock and marble, together with mafic to ultramafic units and biotite granite. These lithologies have all been pervasively overprinted by an upper amphibolite facies NW – SE-trending fabric (Close et al 2007). SHRIMP U‑Pb zircon dating of the metasedimentary rocks in the eastern domain yielded an interpreted maximum deposition age of 1845 +/- 6 Ma, whereas dating of a representative sample of the felsic intrusives of this zone yielded a magmatic age of 1817 +- 4 Ma (Worden et al 2008a). |
