        "sample_remark":"**GA sample is a zircon concentrate supplied by Lloyd White.** Three granitoid samples (LAD08-15, -16, -17) were collected from an outcrop near the village of Chumatang. The outcrop consists of both amphibolite and granodiorite country-rock (LAD08-15) that is crosscut by leucogranite dykes (LAD08-16). The leucogranite dykes are in turn crosscut by pegmatite dykes (LAD08-17). The aim of sampling this outcrop was to establish the timing of each phase. The Chumatang Leucogranite dykes (LAD08-16) are fine-grained granites composed of quartz, orthoclase, microcline, plagioclase, biotite, hornblende, with minor amounts of muscovite and trace amounts of titanite, zircon, allanite, epidote and opaques (probably magnetite). The presence of hornblende and magnetite define the Chumatang Leucogranite as an l-type granite in the petrological classification of Chappell and White [1992; 2001]. Feldspars are commonly altered to sericite, and veins of sericite often crosscut the grain boundaries of minerals. Myrmekitic symplectic intergrowths of quartz and orthoclase occur on the edge of microcline. Flame perthite and deformation twins are also observed in plagioclase. Minor kinks and deformation lamellae are observed in biotite. Quartz also exhibits undulose extinction and grains are inequigranular and polygonal to interlobate in shape.",
